Training programme

Rehabilitation Programme » Training takes the form of practical on the job instruction and work experience and more formalised classroom training. Our Training Officer puts together individual training plans for each trainee based on their needs and future career plans. The aim is to prepare trainees for mainstream work, training and/or education once finished on the project. Our current training programme includes:    1. FETAC Certified Training   - Recycling SKills (Level 4)   - Computer Applications (Level 4)   - Computer Literacy (Level 3)   - Mathematics (Level 3)   - Communications (Level 3)   - Personal Effectiveness (Level 3)   - Preparation for Work (Level 3)   - Office Procedures (Level 3)   We offer trainees the opportunity to gain a full FETAC Major award at level 3. These modules are delivered within the project by VEC tutors. Additional training is available outside the project in such areas as forklift driving, payroll and computerised accounts. Trainees can identify training courses based on their future career plans.       2. Induction Programme   - New trainees complete a half day induction covering health & safety, work procedures and training opportunities.    3. On-the-job training including;   - Recycling skills (Grading of clothes, machine operation and quality control)   - Payroll & Accounts   - Reception and Office Procedures   - Administration & Personnel    4. Post Project Planning  This phase encourages and assists participants to look practically at their options when they finish with the project.Participants    will start post project planning in their final 12 months. Areas covered include:   - C.V. and work preparation   - Work experience placements through Business in the Community's Ready for Work Programme   - Work, Education and training opportunities   We are a FETAC Registered Training Centre with FETAC Quality Assurance.
